Fishy Facts

Scientests say that by 2010 there will be at least 2 million different speices of marin life in the ocean. At the moment it is estimated that there are 15,304 different species of fish. The fastest fish in the sea is the sailfish which can swim at the speed of 120kph unlike the dwarf seahorse which takes 2 days to swim 1 km. According to records the most eaten fish aroun the whole world is carp! the 2nd most was Catfish. The main reason these fish are so popular are because they are very cheap although their quality of taste is not so good. As you must know Blue Whales are the biggest mammal on earth, their heart is the size of a car and their average overall weight is 108,000kg.

Tsunamis

Some people say Global Warming does not cause Tsunamis, Some people say Global Warming does cause Tsunamis. Global warming infact DOES cause Tsunamis, along with earthquakes,volcano eruptions and others in unexpected places. When global warming heats up all the ice it melts and increases sea levels. Ice is very heavy and weighing about one tonne per cubic metre. Glaciers are huge sheets of ice, when they are in one peace they exert enormous pressure on the amount of earths surface they cover. When they melt (which is happening now because of global warming) they let out all that pressure.

Biomes: Oceans, Pacific Ocean.

Oceans are found all over the world. As you should know there are five oceans in the world, Pacific, Indian, Atlantic, Artic and the southern. The pacific ocean is the biggest ocean out of all of them. The Pacific has many winds coming from the south and east mainly. A rainy season occurs over the Pacific ocean during summer months. and has a dry season during the winter months.
